The Institute of Smart Disaster Management aims to establish a smart disaster management system capable of disaster prediction, real-time detection, and rapid response based on advanced ICT convergence technologies. To achieve this, it serves as a specialized organization responsible not only for platform planning and development but also for carrying out national R&D and ODA projects.
In particular, it develops core disaster management systems such as disaster information integration and analysis systems, real-time monitoring and prediction systems, and decision support systems. Through these efforts, it promotes the digitalization and intelligentization of the entire disaster response lifecycle.
In addition, it contributes to the advancement of technologies and operational efficiency in domestic and international water resources and disaster management by providing integrated engineering solutions, including water resources planning, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, numerical simulations, and ODA water management projects.
The Intelligent Flow Division is a specialized water management technology organization with core competencies in AI-based automatic flow estimation technology, precise hydrological surveys, and river hydrological modeling.
By integrating field measurement technologies, hydrological data analysis, and AI-based analytical technologies, it produces reliable hydrological data even in ungauged or poorly gauged rivers and provides technical services that support scientific decision-making for flood response and river management.
In addition, based on extensive field experience and analytical expertise accumulated across various river environments, it performs accurate flow estimation, hydrological characteristics analysis, and hydrological model development, contributing to the realization of data-driven smart water management.
